Andrew Throssell
Andrew was born and educated locally, joining Hebblethwaites initially on brief work placement between Sixth Form and further education and then returning in 1979 under training contract.
After successfully completing the Professional Chartered examinations, Andrew qualified in 1983 and was promoted to partner in 1985. Andrew prides himself on providing a pro-active and holistic service to all clients, in a timely and friendly manner, encompassing all aspects of business life.
Roger Brennan
Roger qualified as a Chartered Accountant whilst working in general practice in Southampton. He moved to Sheffield in 1989, joining Hebblethwaites in November as part of a structured development of I.T. Services and Projects.
In 1993, Roger was promoted to partner. He is experienced in all areas of audit, accountancy, tax, VAT and PAYE with a particular interest in assisting clients to derive maximum benefit from computerised accounting packages
Richard Murdoch
Richard joined Hebblethwaites after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University, and undertook a training contract under which he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
After being promoted to manager, Richard was subsequently appointed as a partner in January 2008.
During his time with Hebblethwaites, Richard has gained experience in a wide range of business areas, with particular emphasis on the audit of small and medium sized companies.
Richard is also heavily involved with the provision of management account services to ensure that clients obtain accurate and up to date accounting information in order to make relevant and timely decisions
John Longley
John has predominantly lived and worked in Sheffield and after graduating from York University, he joined Hebblethwaites under a training contract, successfully gaining his qualification as a Chartered Accountant in 2010. He has since been promoted to partner in 2018.
During his time with Hebblethwaites, John has built close working relationships with both new and long standing clients. John has experience and interest in a wide range of accountancy areas, especially management accounts, statutory accounts for limited companies and audits.
Garry Underwood
Garry has worked in general practice throughout his career, and after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University, gained valuable experience with firms in Sheffield and Nottingham, completing his professional qualifications in 2015.
Garry joined Hebblethwaites in 2018 as a manager, and was subsequently appointed as a partner in April 2024.
Garry has a wide range of experience and enjoys working closely with our clients, primarily providing accounts and audit services, and also being actively involved in the more specialised areas offered by the firm, including Charities, Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, and FCA Gabriel Returns.
